DMPC, also known as 1,2-Dimyristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholineis a phospholipid compound with two 14 carbon fatty acid called myristic acid (14:0) and a phosphate head joined by a glycerol molecule. The molecule can self-assemble in water to form a lipid bilayer with hydrophobic tails facing the inner area and a hydrophilic head facing outward, interacting with water. The compound can be used to prepare nanoparticles or liposomes for drug nanocarrier to deliver therapeutics, such as mRNA/DNA vaccine. Reagent grade, for research purpose.
