背景资料: Specificity of vesicular transport is regulated, in part,nby the interaction of a vesicle-associated membrane protein termednsynaptobrevin/VAMP with a target compartment membrane proteinntermed syntaxin. These proteins, together with SNAP25n(synaptosome-associated protein of 25 kDa), form a complex whichnserves as a binding site for the general membrane fusion machinery.nSynaptobrevin/VAMP and syntaxin are believed to be involved innvesicular transport in most, if not all cells, while SNAP25 isnpresent almost exclusively in the brain, suggesting that anubiquitously expressed homolog of SNAP25 exists to facilitatentransport vesicle/target membrane fusion in other tissues. Thenprotein encoded by this gene is structurally and functionallynsimilar to SNAP25 and binds tightly to multiple syntaxins andnsynaptobrevins/VAMPs. It is an essential component of the highnaffinity receptor for the general membrane fusion machinery and isnan important regulator of transport vesicle docking and fusion. Twonalternative transcript variants encoding different protein isoformsnhave been described for this gene.

免疫原: This SNAP23 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 170-199 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human SNAP23.

保存建议: Store at 4˚C for three months and -20˚C, stable for up to one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.
