背景资料: Adducins are heteromeric proteins composed of differentnsubunits referred to as adducin alpha, beta and gamma. The threensubunits are encoded by distinct genes and belong to a family ofnmembrane skeletal proteins involved in the assembly ofnspectrin-actin network in erythrocytes and at sites of cell-cellncontact in epithelial tissues. While adducins alpha and gamma arenubiquitously expressed, the expression of adducin beta isnrestricted to brain and hematopoietic tissues. Adducin, originallynpurified from human erythrocytes, was found to be a heterodimer ofnadducins alpha and beta. Polymorphisms resulting in amino acidnsubstitutions in these two subunits have been associated with thenregulation of blood pressure in an animal model of hypertension.nHeterodimers consisting of alpha and gamma subunits have also beenndescribed. Structurally, each subunit is comprised of two distinctndomains. The amino-terminal region is protease resistant andnglobular in shape, while the carboxy-terminal region is proteasensensitive. The latter contains multiple phosphorylation sites fornprotein kinase C, the binding site for calmodulin, and is requirednfor association with spectrin and actin. Alternatively splicednadducin gamma transcripts encoding different isoforms have beenndescribed. The functions of the different isoforms are not known.

免疫原: This ADD3 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 552-580 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human ADD3.

保存建议: Store at 4˚C for three months and -20˚C, stable for up to one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.
