SKD1 (Suppressor of K+ Transport Growth Defect1) is a homolog of Vps4p/SKD1 which localized to the cytoplasm and to multivesicular endosomes. It is involved in the transport of biosynthetic membrane proteins from the prevacuolar/endosomal compartment to the vacuole.
