AtDXS is a protein with 1-deoxyxylulose 5-phosphate synthase activity involved in the MEP pathway. It is essential for chloroplast development in Arabidopsis. It is a limiting enzyme for plastidic isoprenoid biosynthesis and essential for chloroplast development.
