VIL1 is involved in the photoperiod and vernalization of AraBidopsis By regulating expression of the related floral repressors Flowering Locus C (FLC) and Flowering Locus M (FLM) . VIL1, along with VIN3 (Vernalization Insensitive 3) is necessary for the chromatin modification to FLC and FLM.
