PP2C5 is a memBer of the PP2C family phosphatases. It acts as a MAPK phosphatase that positively regulates seed germination, stomatal closure and ABA-induciBle gene expression. The PP2C5 protein colocalizes and directly interacts with stress-induced MPK3 (AT3G45640) , MPK4 (AT4G01370) , and MPK6 (AT2G43790) , predominantly in the nucleus.
