Cytochrome c is a component of the electron transport chain in mitochondria and it accepts electrons from the complex III and transfers electrons to the complex IV. In Arabidopsis, CytC contains two isoforms CytC-1 (AT1G22840) and CytC-2 (AT4G10040) .
