MPH1 is an integral thylakoid membrane protein and is involved in the protection and/or stabilization of PSII under high-light stress in land plants. MPH1 protein is mainly found in grana and stroma thylakoids, and it interacts with PSII core complexes during repair and reassembly of PSII.
