Acclimation of photosynthesis to environment 1 (APE1, AT5G38660) is a chloroplast thylakoid protein that is required for the repair of PSII under high light conditions. It has been shown that APE1 interacts with PSII reaction center protein D1 during the PSII complex repair process.
