PCL(3k)-PEG(3k)-ALK has both hydrophobic and hydrophilic polymers made of polycaprolactone (PCL) and PEG, respectively. The polymer can self-assemble in water to form micelles with PCL in the core being shielded by the PEG shell. The core regions can serve as reservoirs for hydrophobic drugs while the shell provide a protection against enzymatic/hydrolysis degradation which leads to long blood circulation in vivo. The terminal alkyne is reactive with azido molecule in the presence of Cu catalyst via formation of triazole bond. Reagent grade, for research purpose.
