MI-nc (hydrochloride) is a weak inhibitor of the menin-MLL interaction. Menin is a tumor suppressor protein. Menin is a part of the MLL (Mixed Lineage Leukemia) SET1-like histone methyl transferase complex. Association of menin with MLL fusion proteins causes oncogenic transformation. MI-nc (hydrochloride) showed very weak inhibition of the menin-MLL interaction (IC₅₀ = 193 μM) in vitro. It serves as a negative control for MI-2 which is a potent menin-MLL interaction inhibitor (IC₅₀ = 0.45 μM).
