Human macrophage/monocyte chemotactic and activating factor (MCAF)，also called human monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1)，is an 8.6 kDa protein containing 76 amino acid residues. It plays an important role in the inflammatory response of blood monocytes and tissue microphages.
