MGMT （O-6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase） is a DNA repair protein that response to DNA damage by removing methly or alkyl groups from the O6 position of guanine. MGMT protects normal cells from cytotoxic effects and is important in drug resistance to alkylating agents.
