BIF-1 （Bax interacting factor-1） is a 365 amino acid protein that interacts with Bax protein and influences cell survival and death. BIF-1 contains a Src homology 3 （SH3） domain in the C-terminus. Overexpression of BIF-1 promotes Bax conformational change，caspase activation，and apoptotic cell death.

Western blotting （2-6 ug/ml）. However， the optimal conditions should be determined individually. The antibody detects 40 kDa BIF-1 in samples from human， mouse， and rat origins. Jurkat cell lysate and rat kidney tissue lysates can be used as positive controls.
