Interleukin-5 (IL-5) is a hematopoietic growth factor expressed in Th2, mast cells and eosinophils. IL-5 acts through its receptor, the IL-5 receptor (IL-5R) and is involved in B cell growth and eosinophil activation. IL-5 has been shown to be and is regulated by GATA-3, in addition to other transcription factors. Human and mouse IL-5 are cross-reactive. Recombinant mouse IL-5 is a non-glycosylated, disulfide-linked homodimer, containing two 113 amino acid chains, with a total molecular weight of 26.2 kDa.

Restore with deionized water (or equivalent)

Store vial at 4° C prior to restoration. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Maintain sterility. This product DOES NOT contain preservative. DO NOT VORTEX. We recommend adding a carrier protein such as HSA or BSA to 0.1% (i.e. 1.0 mg/mL). For best results aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or colder. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge vial before each opening to dislodge contents from the cap and to clarify if contents are not clear after standing at room temperature.
