前列腺素E2（Prostaglandin E2 Receptor, PGE2）是花生四烯酸在很多细胞中代谢的主要产物。跟很多类花生酸一样，PGE2不会预先存在于细胞中。当细胞活化或是存在外源的花生四烯酸时，PGE2合成并释放到胞外。前列腺素E2受体(EP)是一类G蛋白偶联受体，PGE2的作用依赖于细胞上表达的具有不同功能的PGE2受体EP亚型的激活。
