Glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH) is an enzyme that converts glutamate to a-Ketoglutarate, and vice versa. It represents a key link between catabolic and metabolic pathways, and is therefore ubiquitous in eukaryotes. The GDH Assay Kit provides a convenient tool for sensitive detection of GDH in a variety of samples. GDH in sample will consume glutamate as a specific substrate and generate NADH stoichiometrically, resulting in a proportional color development. The GDH activity is easily quantified colorimetrically (lambda = 450nm). This assay detects GDH activity as low as 0.01mU in serum or tissue and cell extracts.Kit Components:GDH *Assay Buffer 1x25mlGlutamate (2M) 1x1.0mlGDH Developer 1x1vialGDH Positive Control 1x1vialNADH (0.5umol) 1x1vial.Storage and Stability:Store the kit at -20°C, protect from light. Allow *Assay Buffer to warm to RT before use. Stable for at least 6 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
